The woman I wanted to be

If you wish to be loved, love!

I finished reading The Woman I Wanted to Be by Diane Von Furstenberg, the iconic, influential, admired, and innovative fashion designer who invented the wrap dress in the 1970s and I am in love in her wisdom, determination and talent. She tells her story from the beginning with passion and honesty – she hides nothing, she is ashamed of nothing. I was impressed how beautifuly she described her childhood, relation to parents, partners, children and grandchildren. Readers can get inside her life and career and se that not everything was perfect. Diane von Furstenberg gives us a great lesson, that we have to be always determinated to be who we want to be.

For me this book is very honest portrait of a woman who achieved all her goals and is empowering others to do the same.

Life is not always a smooth ride. Landscapes change, people come in and out, obstacles appear and disrupt the planned itinerary, but one thing you know for sure is that you will always have yourself.

I highly recomend this book not only for fashion fans but also for people searching for motivation and inspiration.
